Theory of Evolution Vs. Higher Intelligence
  1. Reasons Why I Chose Topic
  • Controversy issue for hundreds of years
  • Lots of information available about the topic
  • I am interested in the research I'll find about evolution as well as creationism
  • Widespread global issue that affects everyone
  • Issue concerns our whole civilization as a whole and events that pertain to issue since the beginning of time
  • Enormous amount of scientific facts that I am eager to discover
2. What I Know
  • Darwin first proposed theory of evolution
  • Great amount of controversy over issue and as of today issue is still a major debate world wide
  • Darwin's evolution states that all life is related and descendants of a common ancestor
  • Higher intelligence of course states that life is created by one being, keyword: CREATED
  • The struggle of science vs. Religion has raged on since the beginning of our civilization and there have been numerous acts against the preservation of religion
  • Higher intelligence has been prevalent since the dawn of time and appeared in early civilizations to give meaning to life and develop morals
  • Religion has controlled most of our civilization until the scientific revolution emerged which changed many aspects of life
3. What I Don't Know and Want to Learn
  • What problems did Darwin encounter when proposing his ideas?
  • What were some events that happened in history that protected religion when science said otherwise?
  • How closely related are humans to primates?
  • What other species of animals in our modern day appear to have been descendants from other animals?
  • What were the first civilizations that embraced religion?
  • What were our first civilizations interpretations of life?
